My research interests concern the motivational aspects of body image, its determinants and impact on health, well-being, and adjustment. More specifically, I am interested in how various socio-cultural influences (e.g., media, peers, romantic partners) shape our physical self-perceptions (i.e., thinking of our body as an object vs as a process) and the influence of these physical self-perceptions on the regulation of eating behaviors, exercise, well-being, and performance. I am also interested in how individual differences in people's general motivational orientations (i.e., autonomous vs controlled) moderate these relationships.
