Fusion

Chris Miller
(Troutville, Virginia, USA)

There are many for whom “the ‘social’, their stock and trade … will be left grappling with their object, which, though fully realized; has now become virtual,” Baudrillard tells Philippe Petit (Paroxysm, 1998).

As the social becomes virtual many fall between the cracks.  There are the non-represented and the quarantined; the homeless, mentally-ill children and average individuals… If one is not in the media one does not exist, or at least if one does not participate, one is not part of society.
